Trude Blount

July 26, 1964 — August 31, 2020

Trude L. (Spotts) Blount passed away Monday, August 31, 2020. Soaring on the arms of a snow-white dove she was welcomed to the arms of her heavenly father and her daddy, happily reunited with loved ones.

Trude was born in Michigan on July 26, 1964 to Mavis Jean Hardy and Fredrick Allen Spotts. At the age of four, her family left the city for the peace that the community of Waterford offered. Trude was born for the role of a farmer's daughter and enjoyed the country lifestyle. She thoroughly enjoyed the hard work and fulfillment that farming had given her. She loved animals and enjoyed raising them. Her favorite was the horses. Trude love to show and ride her horses, and always shared many tales with her children and grandchildren about them.

During her time living in Cambridge Springs and working in a nursing home, Trude met the man of her dreams. It only took a date to the movies to know she had found the person she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. She and Bob had their winter wonderland wedding on December 13, 1986. Soon she was blessed with her two amazing daughters and settled happily in McKean.

In 2007 she moved with her family from McKean to Waterford. She cherished every moment she was able to spend with her parents and family. During that time she worked at Edinboro Giant Eagle, and found such pleasure in her work, and came to dearly love her co-workers and customers.

After her father's passing in 2013, she and Bob moved to Edinboro. Living with her husband, daughters, son-in-law, and grandchildren brought immense joy into her life and filled her days with laughter. To Trude, being Nana and mother gave her the most fulfilling and gratifying life she could have ever dreamed of. Her pride and joy were being Nana to her four grandchildren. She spent her days surrounded by love, hugs, kisses, and giggles. She taught her daughters to never give up and to always take life head-on with dignity and passion. Trude loved to crochet, play games, cook, and puzzles. She was a fan of crime dramas and reading horror stories. Her family will always have their hearts filled with memories of her contagious laughter at family dinners, and cherish her sense of humor. More importantly, they will remember how just a hug from her would make the world seem brighter, and that nothing was out of reach. Trude was brought up with a strong faith and belief in God that never faltered, even in the most trying of times.

Other than her mother, Mavis, survivors include her husband of 34 years, Robert W. Blount; two daughters, Amanda Carter (Jordan) and Ashley Blount, both of Edinboro; sister, Darlene McCracken (Jim) of Tidioute, PA; brother, Vail Spotts (Sandy) of Waterford; and sister, Tina Metzler (Jeffrey) of Waterford; also 4 grandchildren, Annabell Stevenson, Emma, and Robert Blount, and Theodore Carter, and many, many nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. A public celebration of life will be held at a later date.
