Thelma "Sally" Harrison

December 29, 1932 — May 15, 2021

Sally Pavkov Harrison (nee Thelma Eileen Pavkov), 88, of McKean, youngest of 19 children of the late Julius and Mary Pavkov, beloved wife of William Henry (“Bill”) Harrison, loving mother of six, grandmother of 17 and great grandmother of 21, returned to the Lord peacefully on May 15, 2021.

Since growing up in Barberton, OH and moving to Northwestern Pennsylvania, she was adored for her love of cooking and hospitality, feeding tens of thousands of friends and strangers over the years in her home, church and other locations throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio. She led the food ministry at First Alliance Church of Erie for many years and, with her husband, was one of the founding members of the General McLane Boosters Club, where she was active for nearly 50 years. She was also the matriarch of a family with tremendous success in academics, athletics and agriculture.  Her children and grandchildren were National Merit National Honor Society Scholars, earned Emmy Awards, were state and national wrestling and gymnastics place winners, state 4H winners and earned regional honors for cross-country, football, track, softball, academic decathlon and other activities. Throughout her life, she remained welcoming of family, friends and strangers. She counted feeding and sheltering more than 100 people over the years whose cars broke down by their home, while her husband repaired their vehicles in snowstorms, rain and other adversity.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, 18 siblings, her husband, Bill (2011), sons Tim (2005) and Dan (2012), and daughter Julie (1964). She is survived by her son Pat and wife Linda, of Okeana, OH, son Mike, of McKean, PA, daughter-in-law Kathy, of McKean, PA, and son Greg and wife Jolie, of Highland Village, TX. She also is survived by her 17 grandchildren, Nate, Carrie, John, Zach, Abby, Luke, Heide, Hazel, Hunter, Hudson, Hayden, Hadley, Hannah, Grace, Noah, Grant and Lex. She also has 21 great grandchildren (2 in utero) and more than 50 loving nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all.
