Shirley Parker

June 5, 1936 — January 1, 2021

Shirley M. Parker, 84, of McKean, died Friday, January 1, 2021 at her home.  She was born in McKean on June 15, 1936 the daughter of the late John and Mary Gnagi.

Shirley had a passion for softball and sponsored the Parker Pool Teams for 35 years. She was called “Ma Parker” by everyone. She was inducted into the USA Softball of PA Hall of Fame in 2019.

She enjoyed snowmobiling and traveling with her husband.

Shirley worked at Elgin Electronics for 37 years and retired from Advacom.

She was a lifetime member of the St. Francis Ushers Club and attended Trinity Lutheran Church in McKean.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph and a sister, Phyllis.

Survivors include a brother, Kenneth (Mary Ann) Gnagi and a sister, Beverley Ferrick, all of McKean; also, many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

No calling hours will be held. The family would like to thank the UPMC Family Hospice Care for their wonderful and compassionate care.

The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Burial will be in Sterrettania Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the UPMC Family Hospice, 1700 Peach St., Erie, PA 16501 or your favorite softball organization.
