Patricia “Pattie” (Eckard) Magdik, 74, of Edinboro, died May 29, 2021. She was born in Erie, PA on May 29, 1947, the daughter of the late Richard and Florence (Jensen) Eckard.
Pattie graduated from Strong Vincent High School and Edinboro University of PA, where she was also employed in Student Personnel Services. She was known as an accomplished dance instructor in Erie and Edinboro for over 50 years and was the owner and director of the Pattie Magdik Dance Studio in Edinboro for 35 years. She devoted over 40 years to mentoring and advising members of Alpha Gamma Delta and was honored as the Outstanding Chapter Adviser in 2010. She was also the recipient of the Edinboro University Distinguished Service Award in 2010, the Edinboro University/WJET-TV Golden Apple Award in 2008, among many others.
Pattie was preceded in death by her husband, Emil in 2007. She is survived by her brother, Richard of Boston, MA; her “sister”, Karen Tempalski, of Ambridge, PA; 13 “outstanding” nieces and nephews, their families, and their parents; and a wonderful group of friends and neighbors she called family.
As per Pattie’s wishes, no calling hours or services will be observed. Scholarships will be established in her name for Edinboro University of PA and Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation.
