Marlene Jo "Jody" Haymond Marzka

Marlene Jo “Jody” Haymond Marzka, 72 of Edinboro, died Sunday, December 5, 2021 at her home.  She was born in Gaines, WV on May 6, 1949, the daughter of the late James Wilford and Willa Mae Hamner Simons.

She enjoyed crafts, spur of the moment road trips, her mustang, and reading.

She moved to Edinboro from Buckhannon, WV in 1983.

She worked at Merrill Smith Realty in Edinboro since 1984, where she retired as the Office Manager.  She previously worked part time for many years as an assistant to Dr. Robert Halmi.

She graduated from Fireland High School in 1967.

She was a member of the Salem Ridge Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Joe Haymond in 1991; a brother, James Leonard Simons; a sister in law, Julia Bias Simons; two nieces, Jamie Lynn Simons and Heather Dawn Simons and her beloved fur baby, Baxter.

Survivors include her loving husband, Richard Marzka, of Edinboro; her daughter, Donna Lee (Bob Hall) Haymond, of Edinboro; a step son, Bradley (Krista) Marzka, of Corry; a step daughter, Carrie A. (Roy) Laughery, of Waterford; a niece, Samatha Evans, two nephews, Logan Evans and Deacon Epps; 8 grandchildren, Kyler, Erick, Brayden, Aleix, Jaxon, Buddy, Keiton, and Braidy; 3 great grandchildren, Cooper, Emmett and Payson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jan Rothman and the Erie Cancer Center for all of their wonderful care.
