James Kerstetter

James O. Kerstetter, 79, of Union City, formerly of Edinboro, died September 19, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Erie on June 24, 1942, the son of the late James J. and Ethel Kerstetter.

Growing up in McKean, Jimmy attended grade school there. After high school, he served in the US Army, including a short time in South Korea.

He worked most of his career in the home construction industry.

Jim was a long time member of a private gun club in Erie. He enjoyed woodworking and loved spending time hunting with his many nieces and nephews at the family camp on Lauger Hill Rd.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, in 2010; two infant daughters, Margaret and Penelope; and a sister, Catherine Ann Hoehn.

Survivors include a special niece and nephew, Kenny “Butch” and Julie Kerstetter, who took wonderful care of Jimmy and made his last years comfortable and very special with the help of Rem and Braeden; a daughter, Cynthia Ellison of Florida, three sisters, Donna Mae Donahue of Edinboro, Linda (Randi) Hammond of Edinboro and Theresa Kerstetter of Arizona; three brothers, Richard (Ruth) of Edinboro, Kenneth (Jackie) of New York, and Gary (Kari) of Waterford; and a step-son, Jeffrey Ellison of Erie; also many, many loving nieces and nephews and three grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
