Frank Rajecki

December 30, 1936 — August 23, 2021

Frank Rajecki, age 84, died unexpectedly Monday, August 23, 2021.  He was born in Chicago, IL, son of the late Frank and Mary (Dachtyl) Rajecki.

At age three, Frank and his family moved to McKean where he lived the majority of his life growing up on the family farm and helping to raise his siblings after his father died in an accident at a young age.  He graduated from McKean Joint High School and enlisted in the Marines touring the Pacific, Philippines, Okinawa, and Japan.  Returning home, he started his career at Gartner and Harf with his brothers Rich and Joe, then worked as a butcher at Western Provisions, and then as a Meat Department Manager at Loblaws for many years and retiring from Quality Markets in 1998.  He was a lifetime member of the St. Francis Ushers Club.  Frank enjoyed hunting, golfing, gardening, cooking, and wine-making, and spent much of his time putting his construction skills to work on home-improvement projects for his and his children’s homes.  He had a love for chocolate, good steaks, Smith’s hot dogs and bologna, home-grown tomatoes, cucumber salad, ice cream and especially his daily “medicine” of a gin or vodka and tonic, and would always crack his family up with a witty comment.  He also enjoyed spending winters with his wife Rita in Florida or Palm Springs during retirement and spending much time with family and friends.  Frank will always be deeply missed, so here’s to you Frank, “One for the road,” and as he would always say, “Don’t worry about it.”

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his first wife Donna (Jacquel) Rajecki in 1983, brothers Rich (Dee), Joe (Shirley), Marty, and John Rajecki, sister Fran (Chuck) Menosky, brother-in-law Dave Roman, brothers-in-law Vern (Betty) and Norm (Claire) Jacquel, and several nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years Rita (Kuhn) Rajecki, sisters Joanne Roman of McKean, Mary Noel McAtee (Don Mathers) of Edinboro, Regina (George) Bucho of Waterford, sister-in-law Bobbie Boik of Asheville, NC, brothers-in-law Jack Kuhn of Poquoson, VA, Norman (Sue) Kuhn of Erie, and Bobby (Jean) Kuhn of Girard, and sisters-in-law Tina (George) Zeitler of Westminster, MD, and Nancy (Ron) Habursky of Erie.

Frank is also survived by his children Chris (Babs) Rajecki of McKean, Darlyne (Walt) Mientkiewicz of McKean, Mike (Cindy) Rajecki of Buffalo, NY, Michele Rajecki of Orlando, FL, and Sue (Bill) Hathaway of Erie, stepchildren Michael Baginski of Palm Springs, CA, Paul (Donna) Baginski of Punta Gorda, FL, Gary (Caroline) Baginski of Nashville, TN, Alan (Krista) Baginski of Erie, and Ryan Baginski of North East.

In addition, he is survived by his grandchildren Will (Jessie) Theisen of Pittsburgh, Jacob and Jeremy Mientkiewicz of McKean, Isabella, Harrison, Noah, and Amelia Rajecki of Buffalo, NY, Shane George of Orlando, FL, Tiffany and Lindsey Baginski of Arizona, Danielle (Brandon) Nelson of Erie, Abbie (Nick) Blake of Erie, great grandchild Luna Baginski of Erie, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
