Vanda G. Stossmeister Shaffer

Vanda G. (Robinson) Stossmeister Shaffer, 86, died Saturday, March 14, 2026 at UPMC Hamot after a brief illness. She was born in Erie on February 13, 1940, the daughter of the late Donald and Verna Robinson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Presley Shaffer, Jr.; her husband, Donald Stossmeister; a brother, Donald Robinson; a sister, Darla Nelson; an infant sister, Dorothy; a granddaughter, Alicia Shaffer-Stalheim; and a son-in-law, John Colón.

She is survived by her children, Don (Carolyn) Stossmeister of California, William (Anne) Stossmeister of North Carolina, Suzan (Terry) Miller of South Carolina, Rinda (Jay) Hirth of Erie, Verna (Doug) Schoonover of Bellefonte, PA, Jeff (Debbie) Shaffer of Albion, Jim (Susan) Shaffer of McKean, Penny (Gary) Davis of Edinboro, Presley (Cheryl) Shaffer of Erie, and Vanda Colón of Erie; two sisters, Mary Ann Roos of Ocala, FL and Cheri Gunter of Lake City; two brothers, William (Sue) Robinson of Rolling Meadows, IL, and Hank Robinson of Erie; a sister-in-law, Walretta Robinson of Fairview; also 51 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

No calling hours will be observed. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 20, 2026 at St. Francis Ushers Club in McKean from 3 to 7 p.m.
