With great sorrow we announce the unexpected passing of Timothy Patrick Ward, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, on February 22, 2026. Tim was born on June 7, 1961 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Clement and Eileen Ward.
Tim was the beloved husband of Wendy Williams Ward whom he met while bartending at the Edinboro Hotel during their college years at Edinboro University. They were married on October 24, 1987. Together they have five children, Kelsey (Garrett) Sheely, Brennan (Kayla) Ward, Kenton Ward, Olivia Ward, and Bailey Ward. Tim was the grandfather of Carter, Emma, Stella and Hunter.
Tim is survived by his sisters Mary Anne (David) Holovac and Kathleen Ward, and brother Partrick Ward, mother in law Winifred Williams, sisters in law Kimberly (John) Streiff, Karen (Dennis) Teed, Julie (David) Insana, brothers in law Jeff Williams, JB (Wendy) Williams, and Mark (Milly) Williams. Tim’s love extended beyond his own children to his numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom would agree that he was their favorite uncle.
Tim will forever be remembered by the incredible connections he made and relationships he built with everyone he met in both his professional and personal life. He touched the lives of many people with his warmth, sense of humor, generosity, and gregarious nature.
Tim’s loss will be most deeply felt by his family, who loved him dearly. Tim was a devoted husband and incredible father to his five children. He was a dedicated and involved parent, always supportive of his children‘s activities, education, and professional pursuits whether that meant coaching a hockey or baseball team, dropping everything to come help with a problem at school, or celebrating graduations and new jobs, Tim was the kind of dad that was a part of everything and everything was made better because of him.
Tim’s most cherished role was certainly that of grandfather. His grandkids adored him and he did not take one minute with them for granted. Although he got to take them to Disney World, Holiday Valley, and camping at Kinzua, the most special memories are the countless hours he spent simply playing and laughing with them at home.
From family ski trips, to long days at the pool, snowmobiling, traveling, going out and “ordering some apps”, camping, cheering on his hometown Clairton Bears, hunting—and pushing deer to everyone else—boating, four wheeling, and countless other hobbies and interests, Tim lived an incredibly full life up through his final days. A beacon of friendship and love, Tim will live on forever in our hearts and he will be missed more than words can express.
