Rosalie Nagy

April 2, 1939 — July 15, 2021

Rosalie J. Nagy, 82, of Edinboro passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Edinboro Manor. She was born in Erie on April 2, 1939, the daughter of the late Peter and Geraldine Glaz.

Rosalie worked at Jack Frost Donuts and the former Hamot Hospital before starting an 18-year career with Value City Department Stores, where she was a department manager. After retirement, she worked in the cafeteria and assisted in other areas at J.W. Parker Middle School, where she was loved and looked up to by all of the kids.

Rosalie was a loving and caring wife and mother.  Raising 5 hellion boys was a task at hand! No matter what, she always knew what they were up to, even when they came home at sunrise the next day! She dedicated her time to their activities and supported their life choices. Rose always talked to others about her kids and especially bragged about her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly

Longtime friend, Irene Waldron, remembers them shoving husbands Al and Bob off to work,  then jumping into Irene’s pool, and also doing crossword puzzles on the phone. Another longtime friend, Sue Strauss, recalled playing cards till the wee hours of the morning. And another great friend, Kelli Kulyk, would sit with Rose on the bench outside for hours, enjoying each other’s company and sometimes sharing a drink.  In the summertime, Rose would set up a pool in the backyard for the neighborhood hoodlums and grandchildren (also hoodlums) so they could stay cool. After the kids hit the bricks and Kelli and Rose were alone, they would hang out like Thelma and Louise and plan to take over the world!

Rosalie was an avid bowler with the Wesleyville Women’s League and enjoyed ceramics with her husband, Bob.  They were big NASCAR fans and loved to visit their son, Tim and family, and attend NASCAR races in Delaware. She loved her dogs, Bo, Snowball and Pudgy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Nagy in 1999; two sisters, Merralie Dewey and Loralie Glaz; and two brothers, Peter, and David Glaz.

She is survived by sisters; Diane Pulliam and Natalie Zimmerman along with five sons, Alan (Lori) Nagy, Timothy (Jacki) Nagy, Robert (Leah) Nagy, Greg Nagy, and Michael (Donna) Nagy; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m., and are invited to attend funeral services there on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
