Robert L. Ward, 86, of Edinboro, PA died Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at his home.  He was born in Union City, on September 2, 1929, the son of the late George D. and Leana E. Ward.

Robert worked as a dairy farmer for 50 years and after retiring, he also worked at Walmart for 5 years.  He was member of the National Farmers Association and has been a member of the Franklin Center United Methodist Church since 1954.

Robert enjoyed hunting, going to fairs, watching horse and tractor pulls, and farm auctions.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Thelma A. (Waid) Ward; two brothers, George (Bud) and Charles Ward; four sisters, Beth Alberts, Harriet Owens, Barbara Obert, and Rachel Laughery.

Survivors include four sons, Robert D. (Jeanie) Ward, of Edinboro, William D. (Angel) Ward, of Union City, Gene (Cecilia) Ward, of Albion, and George Ward, of Edinboro; two daughters, Linda (Bernard) Franks, of Batavia, NY, and Janet (David) Keiper, of Union City; a brother, Gorden (Marian) Ward, of Union City; and a sister, Phyllis Pattison, of Union City; also 20 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren.

The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements.

No calling hours will be observed.  A memorial service will be held at the Franklin Center United Methodist Church on February 6, 2016 at Noon.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the Regional Cancer Center, 2500 W 12th St, Erie, PA 16505 or to the Albion Chapter of the  F.F.A. in c/o Northwestern School District. To send condolences please visit www.gluntfuneralhome.com.
