Robert "Bob" R. Neely

Robert “Bob” R. Neely, 75, of Edinboro, died Sunday, September 6, 2026 at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Washington, PA on March 9, 1951, the son of the late William and Elsie Randolph Neely.

Bob grew up in the Pittsburgh area and later graduated from Slippery Rock High School. He met his wife, Gayle, in 1970 and they were married in 1973. Bob studied Journalism and English at Indiana University of Pennsylvania from 1970-1973 and learned the finer points of photography from his best friend, Mark Jones. He worked as a still photographer, shooting weddings and portraits, and was a legend in the WJET TV Action News 24 newsroom, where he was a videographer for over 30 years.

After several moves, Bob and Gayle settled in Edinboro. Later in life, Bob's creativity led to the creation of the Dashboard T. Duck Facebook page, and a number of his reports can also be found on YouTube. Over the years he and Gayle were loving owners to 3 dogs and 7 cats. He loved helping others any way he could, and was a member of the AH Club of Edinboro,which provides winter clothing to needy children in the Edinboro area.

In addition to his wife, Gayle, Bob is survived by two sisters, Kim (Richard) Busija of Blairsville, PA and Merrie Beth Neely of Clearwater, FL; and his stepmother, Gladys Wible Neely of Gibsonia, PA.

No calling hours will be observed at this time. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
