Suanne "Punky" Strand

     Suanne “Punky” Elizabeth Strand, 77, of Edinboro, PA passed away peacefully at home on December 1, 2025. She was born on August 8, 1948, the daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Strand.

     Her life can be summed up in one word, “love.” Her love of her family, her love of all the students she taught at General McLane school district, her love of laughter, and her love as an amazing mother, daughter, and sister.

     Punky was a nickname given to her as a child, and not a day would go by that someone out of the blue would stop and ask how Punky was. She touched so many lives as a teacher, again through her passion and love of her job, and her desire to help others. She lived a life of giving, and she gave those around her everything she had. While Punky will be missed, she will never be forgotten, and her kindness and love will live on, through all of those she interacted with.

     Punky is proceeded in death by her parents and her uncle Nicholas Andre. Those left to love her; a son: Gus and his father Tom Ward; a brother: James A (MaryAnne) Strand; two sisters: Lindajean Elizabeth Strand and Darcy Elizabeth (Jeff) Karickhoff ; nephews; Joshua (Shenann) Karickhoff, Jonathan (Caitlin) Karickhoff, Christopher (Breonna) Karickhoff, Jim (Erin) Strand; and nieces; Katie (Jim) Ramey, Sara (Ryan) Campa, Jessica (Jason) Brown.
