Pearl Hotchkiss

October 24, 1928 — March 2, 2012

Pearl Eunice Hayes Hotchkiss, 83, of Edinboro died Friday, March 2, 2012 at UPMC Hamot.  She was born in Edinboro on October 24, 1928, the daughter  of the late Burl and Emma Kline Hayes.
After high school, Pearl attended the Edinboro Normal School. She was active in a variety of ministries associated with the Edinboro United Methodist Church for nearly 65 years including having a passion for the prayer ministry. She was also a member of the Edinboro Historical Society, the Garden and Shadbush Clubs. Pearl loved gardening, traveling and working with her family.
Along with raising six children, she was a helpful leader in her community, always busy doing something to help others.
Pearl was preceded in death by her brothers, Perry and Alfred Hayes and a sister, Violet Hayes.
Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Paul M. Hotchkiss; three daughters, Carol Jara (Frank) of Iowa, Marla Broyles (Lewis) of GA, Sandy Sterling (Mark) of Meadville; three sons, John Hotchkiss of Erie, David Hotchkiss (Annette) of Edinboro and James Hotchkiss of Edinboro; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Stafford of Edinboro;   also 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Edinboro United Methodist Church, 113 High Street, Edinboro, on Sunday from 2:30 p.m. until the time of a funeral service at 5:30 p.m.  with Rev. Lisa Grant officiating. The Glunt Funeral Home, Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
