Pasquale Angelo

June 30, 1931 — January 18, 2012

Pasquale “Pat” Angelo, 80, of Edinboro, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at U.P.M.C. Hamot in Erie as a result of congestive heart failure.  Born in Johnstown, PA, he was son of the late Anthony and Angeline Vicarro Angello.  He served in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War.  He married the former Joanie Marie Little in 1956.  He attended Indiana State College on the GI Bill where he graduated in 1958.  He obtained a Masters Degree at Edinboro State College.  He completed doctoral course work at the State University of New York in Buffalo.  He retired as Professor Emeritus from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 1989.  Following his retirement he authored several books on the subject of labor leaders and union history.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid sports enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by two of his children, Kelley Elizabeth, 1967 and Patrick Michael, 1982.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joseph and John Angello and his sister, Betty Mauro.
In addition to his wife Joanie, survivors include two daughters, Teresa (Charles) Wall of Pittsburgh, Jennifer (Gene) Bozek, of Pittsburgh and three sons, Thomas (Lynn) Angelo of Edinboro, John (Victoria) Angelo, of Erie, and Dr. James Angelo, of Winchester, VA; a sister, Ann Leo of Gibsonia, PA.  He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.     A prayer service will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Lake Church at 11:00 a.m., with Father Bill Sutherland officiating.
Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Millcreek Youth Athletic Association Baseball at MYAA, P.O. Box 8184, Erie, PA 16505.
