Nancy Lee (Dornhoefer) Malone, 79 of Edinboro, died Monday, April 4, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital. She was born in Erie on June 21, 1942, the daughter of the late Howard and Alberta (Ames) Dornhoefer.
Nancy grew up in Greene Township where she attended Drown School, a one room schoolhouse, then Wattsburg High School. She met the love her life, Paul Malone, when she was just 15 years old. They married when she was 18 and Nancy was a stay-at-home mom until her children were in high school. She worked at Giant Eagle in Edinboro for many years, then for the General McLane School District, from where she retired.
Nancy and Paul loved to spend time together golfing and fishing. She was an avid Elvis fan, even listening to his songs until just moments before her passing.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Malone (at birth); daughter, Malinda Lou Corbran; son-in-law, Barry Corbran; 2 brothers, Howard Dornhoefer, Jr. and Samuel Dornhoefer; and a sister, Pamela Hilbert.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Paul F. Malone, Jr.; 3 sons, Paul F. Malone, III of Alaska and Jeffrey and David (Miriam) Malone, both of Edinboro; a sister, Shelby Rose of Harborcreek; a brother, Kenneth (Terry) Dornhoefer of Victorville, CA; 8 grandchildren, Alicia (Joel) Belovaric, Heather Corbran, Jennifer (Tyler) Jensen, Kristin Malone, David Malone, Jr., Amber (Jim) Zatec, Daniel Malone, and Katelin Malone; 14 great grandchildren; dear friend, Carolyn Rekitt, who also helped care for Nancy; and many nieces and nephews.
No calling hours will be observed. The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
