With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Nancy Crandall, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and the cherished matriarch of her family.
Nancy’s greatest joy was her family, and she loved each member deeply. She had a remarkable gift for keeping up with everyone's lives and rarely let a birthday, anniversary, or special occasion pass without sending a card. Nancy expressed her love through hospitality and generosity. She never met a dessert she didn't enjoy, especially ice cream, cookies, and hot chocolate, and she was always ready to share them with anyone who stopped by.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. As a devoted member of her church, she faithfully served her congregation through simple acts of care. She delighted in sending cards and notes to fellow church members, offering comfort, congratulations, and reminders that they were being thought of and prayed for.
In addition to her parents, Virgil and Lucile Knickerbocker, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Crandall; a sister, Janet Knickerbocker Clapper; a brother, David Knickerbocker; granddaughter, Alicia Jenkins; son-in-law, David Jenkins; and brother-in-law, Rick Walker.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Cynthia Jenkins of Conneautville, PA, JoAnn (Tom) Lowry of Rochester, NY and Judy (John) Burgess of Portsmouth, VA; brothers, Ron (Lucy) and Jerry Knickerbocker; sisters, Jane (John) Corning and Susan Walker; grandchildren, Lori Jenkins, Becky Jenkins, Jessica (Carl) Matice, Amy Jenkins, Dan Jenkins, Matt Jenkins, Meghan (Chris) Lowry Pfeiffer, Julia Lowry, Evan (Shelby) Burgess, Amanda (Sean) Burgess Gamache and Robbie Burgess; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Hunter) Robinson, Kane and John Jenkins, Zoey and Ivy Matice, Rayna and Anthony Pfieffer and Harper and Rowan Burgess; and great great grandchild, Raelynne Robison; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro is entrusted with arrangements.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Edinboro Presbyterian Church, 4281 Rte 6N, Edinboro, PA 16412. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and share in remembering the love, faith, and joy Nancy brought to so many lives.
