Mary Mccann

July 10, 1930 — October 23, 2013

Mary Agnes McCann, 83, died Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Saint Vincent Hospital.  Mary was born July 10th, 1930 and lived in Branchdale, PA until she met her husband, Frank who whisked her away to exotic places around the world.
Mary followed her husband throughout his 33 year career in the US Army.  Her daughter, Mary (Schatzie) was born in Augsburg, Germany and her son James, was conceived in the Canal Zone, Panama.  Mary always participated in the military community and local activities and later at formal functions as the Command Sergeant Major’s wife.  She enjoyed everything from the president of the Clam Diggers women’s social club in Panama to the Chaplin of the VFW women’s auxiliary in Oberammergau, Germany.  Frank retired in 1977 and they settled in Edinboro and became members of Our Lady of the Lake parish.  Until recently, she enjoyed her Friday jaunts to the Millcreek Mall and lunch with friends.
Mary was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Mayme) Yuschock.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, John, and  a sister, Elizabeth Dullard.
Mary is survived by her husband Frank McCann, her brother Stephen Yuschock, daughter Mary Chapman and her husband, Jack, of Erie; a son, James McCann of Erie, her grandchildren, Annamarie, Jason and Jennifer and great-grandchildren, Sicily, Michael, Siena and Ireland Rose, many nieces and nephews and most notably, “JJ”, her 23 year old cockatiel.
Friends are invited to call on Sunday, October 27, 2013, at 2 - 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am, Monday, October 28, 2013 at Our Lady of the Lake, 128 Sunset Drive, Edinboro.  Burial will be on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.  Memorials may be made to the Edinboro Volunteer Fire Department, 125 Meadville Street, Edinboro.
Mary placed a spot of happiness on everyone she touched. She will be sorely missed.
