Mary Jacobsen

Mary Ann (Beckwith) Jacobsen, 102, of Erie, formerly of Tacoma, WA, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at UPMC Hamot. She was born in Roanoke, VA on September 3, 1915, the daughter of the late Forrest and Mary Jane Beckwith.

She previously worked and then retired from Raymond Manufacturing in Corry.

Mary loved to travel, square dance, play bingo and go the the casino with her beloved niece Jane. She was also a member of the Eagles Club of Tacoma, Washington

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Jacobsen; a son, Gail Thornton; five brothers, Raymond, Donald, Fred, Pat and Russell Beckwith; and a sister, Bertha Jensen.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Orr, of Edinboro; two sons, Robert (Beatrice) Thornton, of Mount Jewitt, PA and William (Barbara) Thornton, of Stephenson, VA; also 16 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and 30 great-great grandchildren.

No calling hours or services will be observed. The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
