Marian Claire (Pierce) Keener, 81, of Edinboro, died Sunday, November 22, 2015. She was born in Homer City, Pa on January 14, 1934, the daughter of Howard H. and Frances Alverta (Kanarr) Pierce, Sr.
Marian graduated from Homer City High School in 1952. She worked at the Campus Sportswear for 9 years in Indiana, Pa. She was a life time member of the Pennsylvania P.T.A. Association. She served as secretary for the Franklin Center United Methodist Church Women's Organization and was a past officer and secretary for the Albion Fair Community. Marian attended the Franklin Center Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin “Jim” Keener, Jr., one sister, Ethel Hayes; two brothers, Clark and Howard Pierce, Jr. and a grandson, Terry Keener.
Survivors include three sons, Gary (Linda) Keener of Erie, Howard (Linda) Keener of Edinboro, and James Keener of Cambridge Springs; three daughters, Joyce McPeak of Newark, OH, Nancy (Scott) Pyle of McKean, and Melissa Keener of Waterford; and one brother Jay E. (Pam) Pierce of Daytona Beach, FL., also 23 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the Pleasant Ridge Manor West and the Regional Home Health and Hospice for their wonderful care.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Monday, November 30, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held there on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Barb English officiating.
