Margaret “Peg” Marie Meyn Piper Penna, 88, of Pleasant Ridge Manor, Girard, died Thursday, February 3, 2011, surround by her loving family. She was born in Erie on August 13, 1922, the daughter of the late Gustav and Emma Habercam Meyn.
Peg graduated from Academy High School. She worked many years as a Concierge at the Don CeSar Beach Resort in St. Petersburg, FL. She was a member of the Women's Club of Erie and the Kahkwa Club.
She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, John H. Piper; her 2nd husband, Anthony Penna; a son Michael Piper in 2010; a brother, Otto Meyn and a sister, Charlotte Chaffee.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Lynch of Girard and 5 grandchildren, Michelle Brown, Katie Piper, John Lynch, John Milosich, and Lisa Fader; also, 6 great-grandchildren.
No calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the Pleasant Ridge Manor's Memorial Chapel at 11:00 a.m..
The Glunt Funeral Home, Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 2810 W 21st St #12, Erie, PA 16506-6907.
