Laura Swift

Laura Helena Swift, 87, of Edinboro died Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at LECOM Senior Living Center. She was born in Conneaut, OH on June 1, 1934, the daughter of the late Frans and Lempi Wintturi.

Laura worked at Edinboro University for twenty years as a secretary at Compton Hall, Miller Research Learning Center, the Health and Physical Education Department, and Education Services.

She was a Past Matron of Edinboro Order of Eastern Star #359 and former Deputy of District 1-A in the Order of Eastern Star.  She was past Queen of the Daughters of the Nile #140 in Erie.  She was a past Noble Grand of Conneauttee Rebekah Lodge #324.  She was also a member of Ladies Oriental Shrine and Jepthah White Shrine.  She was a volunteer at the Shriner's Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil Swift, in March 2001; a son, Stephen Swift; two sisters, Laila Wintturi and Mariam Rood; a brother, Wilho Wintturi; and two grandsons, Jonathan Hanson and Michael Swift.

Survivors include her: two daughters, Linda (Mark) Aleksandrowicz, of Erie, Kathleen (Lee) Wisniewski, of Middleburg, Florida; three sons, Jeffery Swift of Edinboro, Douglas (Debbie) Swift, of Las Vegas, Timothy (Jolene) Swift of North Tonawanda, NY; also many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Debby Sullivan (Rick) of Erie who was a third daughter to her.

Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.. A funeral service will be held there on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will follow in Edinboro Cemetery.
