Joyce Lynn Pierson

Joyce Lynn Pierson, 69, of Edinboro, Pennsylvania, was called home on Friday, September 4, 2026, to reunite with her late son, William James “BJ” Pierson. 

Joyce blessed the world with her arrival to the late William and Violet Brown on November 13, 1956. Joyce attended Strong Vincent High School. Joyce was a woman whose heart was never quite full unless she was caring for others. This led her to spend her life doing just that, through her long career as a State Certified Nursing Assistant. She spent many years working at Edinboro Manor, and LECOM at Presque Isle, where she would eventually retire.

If you knew Joyce, you knew that you were not only lucky, but that you were also loved and cared for. Through her heart of gold, she was always there when you needed her. Ready with a helping hand, a hug, or even just an ear to listen. She loved, laughed and cared deeply for those that she called not only family, but also friend.

Outside of her passion for caring, Joyce loved traveling to her family’s true home, in the beautifully vast, hilly countryside of Clay County, West Virginia. There she enjoyed visiting her relatives and watching her children wade in the creek, while dodging crawfish. On these trips she enjoyed listening to most notably, “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver, one of her favorite musicians. Joyce also loved having holiday dinners, and family get togethers, so that she could play with her babies. Although most us are no longer babies.

Joyce was proceeded in death by her parents, William and Violet Brown, a very beloved son, William James “BJ” Pierson, a brother, William Brown, and four sisters, Jean Leonard, Linda Brown, Wanda Highfill, and Patricia Lawson.

Survivors include her loving husband James Pierson, her daughter, Leticia Pierson, of McKean, her son, Enoch (Ashley) Pierson, of Erie, and three grandchildren, William Jepson, Hunter Smith, and Everett Pierson. Along with many nieces and nephews.

Joyce may no longer be here to care for the people she loved, but the memories of her smile, laughter, and love will stand the test of time, as her memory will be forever remembered in the minds of her children, and grandchildren; and at every Thanksgiving NERF battle.

Friends may call at Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., on Sunday, September 13, 2026 from 2 to 6 pm.
