Joanne Frances Olsavsky

Joanne F. Olsavsky, 85 of Edinboro, died Thursday, March 17, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born in Erie, PA on July 22, 1937, the daughter of the late Edward and Frances Esser.

Joanne graduated from the former Villa Maria Academy in 1955. Prior to her marriage, Joanne worked at Bell Telephone in the 1950's. In 1959 she married John Olsavsky who preceded her in death in 2006.

Joanne was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She and John lived in fullness of faith and enjoyed Latin Mass. She was a long time member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Edinboro.

Survivors include her daughter, Maureen (Stephen) Tillisch of Mechanicsburg, PA; three sons, Thomas and John Olsavsky, both of Edinboro, and Joseph (Jackie) Olsavsky of Waterville, OH; a brother, Robert (Sue) Esser of Erie; five grandchildren, Jesse Olsavsky, Kimberly (Steve) Stuart, Matthew Olsavsky, Christopher Tillisch and Sean Tillisch; and two great-grandchildren, Nora and Ivy Stuart.

Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Monday, March 20, 2023 from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 128 Sunset Drive, Edinboro, PA on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 1 p.m.
