Jerry Lee George, 69, of Edinboro, died, September 17, 2011 at home. He was born in Sharon, PA on August 8, 1942, the son of the late Gerald Virtue and Josephine Wygant Schuler George.
Jerry was a graduate of the Rocky Grove High School and Penn State University. He also graduated from Edinboro State College, receiving the first MA awarded by the college. He taught high school in Connellsville, PA and Ft. Leboeuf, PA and taught in the English Department at Edinboro University from 1969 to 2002. While on sabbatical he taught English at Collegio Media Luna in Colombia from 1983 to 1985 and was the Elementary School Principal at the American Nicaraguan School from 1987 to 1989.
Survivors include his two sons, Gerald George and his wife Mary of Bowie, MD and Timothy George of Belford, NJ; two grandchildren Lillian Louise and Dominic Eugene George; his sister Carole Lyon; and his former wives, Louise Leuenberger of Canyon Lake, CA and Lisa George of Edinboro.
