Janelle Renee Guriel, 31, of McKean died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Erie, on September 30, 1980, the daughter of Barbara Headley Guriel Davies and the late John M. Guriel.
Janelle was a 1998 Graduate of General McLane High School. After graduation, she attended the Art Institute of Phoenix earning an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts. After college, she worked as a chef in a Phoenix area catering company.
Janelle had a passion for collecting beach glass especially on Presque Isle with her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Guriel in 1996.
Survivors include her loving mother, Barbara Headley Guriel Davies and her step-father, Mark Davies of McKean; her maternal grandmother, Martha Headley of Albion; a sister, Elizabeth “Lizz” Guriel of Pittsburgh; a step-brother, Seth Davies of McKean; a step-sister, Alyssa Davies and Janelle's two nephews, Landon and Noah Brower, all of Erie.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Oct. 24, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 8880 Edinboro Road, McKean at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Mark Nowak officiating.
