Jack Koon, Sr.

Jack Gaylord Koon, Sr., 80, of Waterford, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015 at St. Mary's Asbury Ridge following a short illness.  He was born Rockdale Twp, Cambridge Springs, on Nov. 9, 1934, the son of the late Isaac and Edna Koon.

He was a retired machinist from American Hollow Boring and served 10 years in the US Air Force.

Jack enjoyed fishing and taking care of feral cats.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of more than 57 years, Jane Mary (Campbell) Koon in July 2015; his son, Jack G. Koon, Jr. in Feb. 2014; four brothers, Larry, Ike, Jesse and Jimmy Koon; and three sisters, Beth Hutcheson, Beryl Scrivens, Ella Ruth Talkington.

Survivors include his loving daughter, Kandi Koon of Erie, and his extended family, Margaret Kreider and Jason Powell.

No calling hours will be observed.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 128 Sunset Dr., Edinboro, with Fr. Daniel Hoffman officiating.

The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Burial will be in Washington Valley Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to  the family c/o Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie St., Edinboro, PA 16412.
