Helen Margaret Wokulich, 46, of Arden, NC, formerly of McKean, PA died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016 in North Carolina. She was born in Erie on May 9, 1970, the daughter of Dolores M. (Gaspar) Berry and Robert A. Wokulich.
Helen graduated General McLane High School in the class of 1989. She attended school to become a dental assistant and worked for Dr. Tucker at Tucker Dental Excellence in Erie. She also worked at Little Caesars Pizza in Erie, Kohl's in Erie and Ashville, NC, and Mission Hospital in Ashville. Helen was very active in Compassion in Jesus Name sponsoring 3 children in Ecuador.
Helen's family would like to thank Dr. Nathan Williams, Dr. Black and Donna, their incredible nurses and staff, for the incredible care and passion that Helen received over the last several years.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Maria S. Vennero; paternal grandfather, Alexander Wokulich; and her paternal grandmothers, Helena Wokulich and Dorothy Wokulich Berry.
Other than her parents, survivors include her son, Nicholas E. VanTassell of McKean; her step-father, Nolan “Newt” Burdick of McKean; brothers, Robert A. Wokulich, Jr. and Jeff (Brenda) Burdick, all of Erie; sisters, Paige (Michael) Barnhart of McKean, Renee (Tom) Sterner of Titusville and Debbie (Dan) Gruver of McKean; her fiancé, Richard Aleksandrowicz of Arden, NC; uncles, Victor (Susan) Gaspar, Peter and Michael Wokulich, Paul, Ray and Dean Berry; aunts, Kathleen (Chris) McClellan, Melinda (Robert) Bayus, Marina Berry and Rebecca Fuller; a great-aunt, Ethel Delucy; nieces, Meghan Wokulich, Izzabella and Addalaide Barnhart; nephews, Keith Lohrke and Michael Gallagher along with many other nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. A service will be held there on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jack Ellis officiating.
