Harry James "Jimmy" Ondrey, 69, of the Gertrude Barber Center, and formerly of Edinboro, died August 10, 2017 at Millcreek Community Hospital. He was born in Edinboro on March 6, 1948, the son of the late Joseph and Anna Ondrey.

He attended General McLane High School. For many years, he lived and worked at the Gertrude Barber Center. An avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan, he knew all the statistics of most players and collected many hats and jerseys over the years.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and John “Jack” Ondrey.

Survivors include his sister, Mary Ann (Paul) McKeegan of Nashville, Tennessee; two brothers, Jeffrey (Sali) Ondrey of Wexford, PA and Gerald (Ursula) Ondrey of Frankfurt, Germany; a sister-in-law, Shirley Ondrey of Edinboro and Florida; also many nieces and nephews.

The family is especially grateful for the love and care provided by Jimmy's second family, Christine and Chuck Watkins of Erie.

The Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, is in charge of arrangements.

Friends may call at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Edinboro on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, with Fr. Daniel Hoffman officiating.
