Gregory Michael Mogush, 61, of Erie, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018. He was born in Erie on May 29, 1957, the son of Michael and Barbara (Badger) Mogush.

Greg was retired from Western Southern Life Insurance Group where he worked in sales for 26 years. After his retirement, he worked as a driver for the Legacy Truck Center for 6 years and was an evening manager of the Motel 6 in Erie. Greg graduated from General McLane High School in 1975 where he played football and basketball. He also played American Legion Baseball with his brother Tom for several years when they were both teenagers. Greg and Tom had a brief venture together as entrepreneurs, owning and operating Mo’s Deli in Edinboro in the late 1970s. Greg then attended Salem College in Salem, West Virginia studying broadcast journalism, and worked as a disc jockey at the NBC radio affiliate in Salem in the early 1980s.

Remaining an avid sports fan throughout his life, Greg was devoted especially to his Pittsburgh teams, the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates. He enjoyed golfing and loved fishing with his son, Aaron. Greg had an infectious laugh and was extremely outgoing. He was also fond of his rescue cat, Hummer, who found him when he lived in West Virginia and worked her way into his heart.

In addition to his parents, Greg is survived by his son, Aaron Mogush of Arizona; a brother, Thomas Edward Mogush, Sr. of Edinboro, and his wife, Cathleen; a sister, Peggy Ann Mogush of Meadville, a nephew, Thomas Edward Mogush, Jr. of Gloucester, Virginia, and his wife, Sarah, a great-niece McKenna Mogush, and several beloved cousins.
