Gerald "Gerry" E. Smith

Gerald Edwin Smith, 73, of Erie, PA, passed away on June 9, 2025 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. A celebration of life will be held at Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 210 Erie St., Edinboro, PA on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Gerald was preceded in death by his mother and father, Evelyn and James Smith, brother, James Smith, and daughter, Victoria Henry. Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Karen Smith; oldest son and daughter-in-law, John and Nicole Clifford; youngest son and daughter-in-law, Jerad and Krista Smith; son-in-law, Ryan Henry; two stepsons, Jason Granat and Dylan Durkin; two brothers, Kenny and Danny Smith; sister, Jacqueline Conaway; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; and his dog, “Fidget.”

Gerald “Gerry” was born on August 13th, 1951 in Erie, PA. He attended East High School and worked for FedEx in Erie for 27 years before retiring early to enjoy his golden years with his family. Gerry loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, listening to music, eating sweet treats, and watching movies and TV shows from his youth. Gerry will be remembered for the kind and gentle manner in which he treated others. In his younger days, Gerry was an incredibly personable individual who could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He was always “on the go” and possessed a work ethic and resilient nature that was unmatched. Gerry was deeply loved and will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
