June 3, 1922 — January 3, 2019

Genevieve “Jennie” Irene (Danylko) Dzeskewicz, 96, of McKean, passed away January 3, 2019 at her home, surrounded by family.

Jennie was born in McKean, PA to William Danylko and Katrina Schrum Danylko on June 3, 1922. She attended school in McKean Township and graduated from 8th grade. In May of 1944, she married Adam P. Dzeskewicz, Sr. who was also of McKean. Jennie worked at Liberty Bakery, Marx Toys, Bliley Electric Company and General Electric, but her passion was working the family farm in McKean.

Jennie was a lifelong parishioner at St. Francis Xavier Parish and was past president of the Rosary Society. She had a strong faith and only missed a few church services in her lifetime. Jennie enjoyed playing cards, trips to the casino, and playing bingo. She was known as a great cook and baker, and was especially proud of her vegetable garden. Always open-minded, she was interested in other people and had a great sense of humor. Jennie had a long life enriched in good health, family and friends.

Jennie is preceded in death by her parents, William and Katrina; five brothers, Alex, Nick, John, Steve Danylko and Frank Dachtyl;  six sisters, Caroline Zychowski, Mary Rajecki, Helen Szymanowski, Josephine Flak, Mary Czesnowski and Catherine Dlugolenski; her husband, Adam P. Dzeskewicz, Sr.; and a son, Adam P. Dzeskewicz, Jr.

Jennie is survived by her son, Ronald (Christina) Dzeskewicz; daughter, Cheryl (Michael) Stewart; daughter-in-law, Patsy Dzeskewicz; six grandchildren, Patrick Dzeskewicz, Tamara (Scott) Kemmler, Christopher (Heather) Stewart, Heather (Jason) Showman, Jenny (Nate) Allen and Brian (Julie) Dzeskewicz; and ten great-grandchildren, Dalton and Delaney Dzeskewicz, Michael and Preston Kemmler, William and Willow Dzeskewicz, Ethan, Amelia and Katelyn Stewart, and Bryan Allen.

Visitation will be held at the Gathering Space at St. Francis Xavier Church in McKean on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held there on Monday at 10 a.m.  Burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
