Dawn R. Beisel, 77, of Edinboro, died Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at her home. She was born in Pittsburgh on July 13, 1943, the daughter of the late Donald and Ruth Greenawalt. She was raised near Charleroi, PA and lived in Edinboro, PA for more than 50 years.
"Mrs. B" was a dedicated elementary school teacher known for her joy, creativity, and her fun puppets in the classroom. She taught 2nd grade at McKean Elementary for nearly 40 years. After retirement, she spent another 10 years substituting in Catholic schools for the Diocese of Erie. She made every child she met feel extra special, especially her close group of neighbor kids and tutoring students.
Dawn was a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania; but was an avid sports fan of Penn State, General McLane, and Steelers football. She took great pride in her yard and garden; and enjoyed relaxing with her beloved black cat, Jenny, and a good book.
She was very proud of her daughters, Amy (Douglas) Hill, of Harrisburg, PA, and Susan (Ryan) Miscavige, and grandsons Ethan and Aaron Miscavige, of Etters, PA. She is also survived by two sisters and their families, Susan (Bob) Frenz, of New Castle, and June (Roger) Stubbe, of Naples, FL.
In addition to her parents, Dawn was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Bill, in March of 2016.
