Charlotte M. Mainon, only 45 years young, a quadriplegic for twenty-two years, who's health was a struggle for the last few years with Chronic Osteomyelitis then Multiple Sclerosis (MS).  She was always a fighter and strong until the diseases took her away on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie, PA.  Charlotte is survived by her beloved cat, Tai Pei.  Charlotte lived in Edinboro, PA since she attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania many years ago.  Charlotte was the only beloved daughter of her loving parents, Vincent and Catherine Mainon of Doylestown, PA and her aunt and uncle, Charlene and Ron Miller of Pasadena, MD and cousin, Justin Miller and his family.
Charlotte was a graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Sciences in Education – Elementary & Mentally/Physically Handicapped Teaching Certifications and Master of Arts in Counseling – Elementary & Secondary School Guidance.  She received many honors and awards; Outstanding School Guidance Graduate Student Award; Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation Awards; Bruce Manville Morrison Rare Book Fund Scholarship; Magna Cum Laude; Who's Who Among American Colleges & Universities and Surrinder Dhillon Award.  She worked as the Elementary and Special Education teacher and Elementary and Secondary school guidance counselor at various local school districts until her declining health.  She loved to work with the children as it was her dream before attending the college.
Charlotte graduated from Central Bucks East High School, Doylestown, PA and was an avid tennis player.  She loved tennis so much and continued to play tennis when she became a quadriplegic until a few years ago then switched to playing tennis on Wii Sports.
A service will be private at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, PA with Fr. Dan Hoffman officiating.  A private burial will be in Doylestown, PA, Charlotte's home town. To send condolences please visit www.gluntfuneralhome.com.
