Barbara Josephine (Badger) Mogush, 94, of Edinboro passed away May 26, 2025 at Pleasant Ridge Manor in Girard. Barb was born on July 25, 1930, in Meadville, to Geraldine (Cyphert) and Joseph Badger.
Known as Bobbie in her teens, she graduated from Meadville High School in 1948 and spent a few years in Arizona and southern California. She fell in love with the southwest, but eventually returned to Meadville where she worked as bookkeeper at Merchant’s Bank on Water Street.
Throughout the years she also worked at Talon in Meadville, Northwest PA Intermediate Unit in Edinboro, and Jaccard’s Jewelers in Erie. She had an imagination and talent for fashion design and a desire to pursue a college degree in that area, but her life took a different direction. She married Michael J. Mogush in November, 1956, and they would enjoy a companionship spanning 66 years until his passing in 2022.
With a sharp mind, Barb loved reading non-fiction and working difficult crossword puzzles. She had a passion for genealogy, and her curiosity for finding missing historic links had her writing letters to distant relatives and traveling to libraries and historical societies seeking information. In the late 1990s she got her first home computer, which amplified her passion and ability to find information, and she left a tremendous legacy of family data. She loved Depression Glass and the stories that lived with historic pieces of glass and china, and she was enthralled with the Baldwin-Reynolds Museum. Her creativity made decorating for Christmas special and extravagant, especially when her children were young. She also loved cuddling with her cats, all rescues, and enjoying her flower gardens.
In addition to her husband, Michael, she was preceded in death by her son, Gregory in 2018, and her beloved cat, Rusty.
Survivors include her son, Thomas of Edinboro; daughter Margaret (Peggy) of Meadville; grandsons, Thomas Mogush, Jr. of Virginia and Aaron Mogush of Arizona; great-granddaughter, McKenna Mogush of Virginia; brother, Daniel Badger of Townville; several nieces and nephews; and cats, Fluffy, Tiger, and Dolly.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 2 to 4 PM at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie St., Edinboro, followed by a funeral service at 4 PM. Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery in Meadville, on Monday, June 2 at 11 am.
The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff at AseraCare Hospice and Pleasant Ridge Manor for their genuine care and compassionate dedication to their difficult work.
