Anthony Francis Williams, known affectionately as Tony or Butch, passed away at his home on February 9, 2026, at the age of 82.
Born in Sharpsville, PA on June 22, 1943, Tony was a proud graduate of Sharpsville High School and attended Youngstown State University. In his younger years, an entrepreneur at heart, he owned Tony’s Pizza in Edinboro, before transitioning into a long career in food sales with Flickinger, Sysco, and Trippi Foods. He also served his country in the Army National Guard and was a dedicated community member through the Knights of Columbus, the Rotary Club, President of the Mutual Life Insurance Company, and as a coach for Little League Softball.
Tony lived a full life—whether he was behind the wheel of his Corvette, walking the fairways of his favorite golf courses, or traveling to Florida with his wife, Sally. He was a fixture in local golf, bowling, and softball leagues. The golf course was his home away from home. Yet, for all his interests, his favorite title was “Papa”. His family will forever cherish the memory of him teaching his grandson to ride a bike and his granddaughter how to crawl. While dementia slowly took many of these cherished activities from him in recent years, it could not steal his sense of humor or the deep love he felt for his four grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their profound gratitude to the friends, neighbors, and caregivers who supported Tony, particularly during the difficult time when Sally was hospitalized. Their devotion, along with the care provided by his hospice team, allowed Tony to remain surrounded by loved ones until the end.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Sally; his daughter, Megan (Drew) Howard; his four grandchildren, Jane, Annie, Parker, and Cameron; his sister, Marsha (John) Deacon; his brother, Jerry Williams; his cat, Oscar; and many dear cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Mary Williams, and his sister, Patricia Havrilla.
Calling hours will be held Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie St., Edinboro, PA 16412. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine Episcopal Church.
