Andrew E. Danielson II

Drew Danielson, 79, a resident of Edinboro, PA, died on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026 after a brief illness with family by his side. He was born in East McKeesport on October 16, 1946, the son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Danielson.

Drew was a graduate of Westinghouse Memorial High School and Edinboro State College. He had an impressive 37 year elementary teaching career at Fort LeBoeuf School District impacting countless children’s lives. Drew enjoyed playing music, fishing, camping, canoeing, and sitting by the campfire with friends. He played in numerous bands from the 1970s to early 2000s. He was the Founder of NW PA Ukuleles and spent hours teaching others of his love of music. He participated in the Edinboro United Methodist Church Choir, was very active in his local PSEA during his teaching career and the General McLane Athletic Boosters when his kids were in school. He was also a die hard fan at his children’s and grandchildren’s infinite sporting events, band, dance and theater activities.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cindy, and their 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren: a son, Andrew Danielson III; a son, Adam Danielson and his wife, Michelle, their children, Logan, Shannon and Devin and his wife, Alexandra, and their children, Archer and Elsie; a daughter, Dani Cutlip and her husband, David, and their children, Nicholas, Morgan, Darren and Zachary and his wife, Kristin, and their children, Arden and Marshall; a daughter, Dawn Ickes and her husband, Jamie, and their children, Kaitlyn, Braden, and Khloe; a son, Chase Gilbert and his wife, DeAnn, and their daughter, Claudia; and a daughter, Sara Tobolewski and her husband, Jake, and their children, Luke, Lillian, and Cole. He is also survived by many nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John (Carol) Danielson.

Drew will be greatly missed by those who knew him. His laughter and singing voice will ring in our hearts and minds forever. He had an amazing talent for creating songs about any topic at any time, our favorite being the annual Thanksgiving turkey dance. His generosity, salty language, and sense of humor won’t soon be forgotten.

A memorial gathering will be held at Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Monday, Sept. 28, 2026 from 6 – 8 pm. A funeral service will be held there on Tuesday, at 11 am.

Memorials can be made in Drew’s name to Myakka Elephant Ranch to commemorate Drew’s love of elephants.
